The aspirations of the Indonesian Nation have been clearly formulated in the Preamble to the 945 Constitution. In a long-term scope, these aspirations aim at establishing general welfare, the development of the nation's intellectual life, the even distribution of the prosperity and justice for the entire Indonesian People.
We have laid down already the basic foundations, namely Pantjasila as the fundamental basic of our Ideology, Morals and National Identify; and the 1945 Constitution as the constitutional basis, the guiding principles and norms of the life of State and Nation. These basic foundations are of great significance for the Nation, for they constitute a compact outlook on life and at the same time the ideals the Nation is striving for, and "the rule of the games" to achieve the goals.
Without these basic foundations and outlook on life the Nation may be swayed back and forth for having no solid ground to stand on and no aims to head for.
