This book is a compilation of papers presented at the 23rd Annual Workshop on Commercial and Consumer Law, held in Toronto from June 24–26, 1993. It focuses on current developments in international and comparative corporate insolvency law. The workshop gathered academics, insolvency practitioners, judges, and government officials from around the world for three days of intensive discussions on the increasing complexity and importance of cross-border insolvency issues. The volume addresses efforts toward the reorganization of insolvent businesses and the search for more harmonized international insolvency rules. It contributes significantly to the growing body of literature on international and comparative insolvency law and reflects the collaborative efforts of Canadian and international legal experts supported by numerous legal institutions and organizations.
