This edition of Indonesian Quarterly is a collection of articles reflecting the long journey of Indonesia-ASEAN until the Organization's 50th anniversary. ASEAN's relevance to Indonesia, especially in the field of security politics and economy sector, is presented in a more detailed analysis. Indonesia is one of the founding fathers of ASEAN, and plays a leading role in the region. In the future, it is hoped that Indonesia will continue too strenghten its role in ASEAN, not only actualising its traditional role as regional power but also as an attempt to strenghten influence globally.
