Handbook on Restorative Justice Programmes
Restorative justice is a flexible, participatory and problem-solving response to criminal behaviour , which can provide a complementary or an alternative path to justice. It can improve access to justice, particularly for victims of crime and vulnerable and marginalized population, including in transitional justice context.
As part of Criminal Justice Handbook Series, a series of practical tools developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to support countries in the implementation of the rule of law and criminal justice reform, this handbook aims to provide an overview of the concept, values and principles of restorative justice as well as practical guidance on restorative justice programmes and processes.
