You can't eat grass
You can't eat grass is a personal story, reflecting sudden confrontations with the past. These were triggered by the everyday events experienced by the Dutch Australian woman who spent her youth in the Dutch East Indies and her ten-years in a Japanese Prison Camp. Eve ten Brummelaar spent nearly four years in Japanese Concentrations Camps for Civilian Women on the Island of Sumatra.
